The Peljesac Bridge in southern Croatia was connected as the final piece of its steel box girders, manufactured by China Railway Baoji Bridge Group Co., Ltd. under China Railway Hi-tech Industry Corporation Limited, was lifted on July 28. Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic visited the construction site and joined the Chinese supervisor and project managers to witness the significant moment. The Prime Minister hailed the Chinese workers’ commitment, courage, and perseverance despite of various difficulties, which according to him, demonstrated the Chinese speed and Chinese power.

The largest China-constructed transportation infrastructure project in Croatia, Peljesac Bridge connects the Croatian mainland and Peljesac Peninsula. It stretches 2,440 meters in length and involves construction of 165 steel box girders. China Railway Baoji Bridge Group undertook the production of steel structures for 81 of the girders, weighing 18,000 tons in total.
