On August 24, local time, the single-day output of the segments of the Nepal’s Sunkoshi Marin Diversion Multipurpose Project, which was jointly constructed by China Overseas Engineering Group and the China Railway No.2 Group, exceeded 120 pieces (20.3/ring), successfully breaking through the theoretical design capacity and successfully refreshing the single-day production record of segments.

Since its establishment in August 2021, the project has overcome many difficulties, such as the rebound of the COVID-19 pandemic, the super-long rainy season, the inability of equipment manufacturers to provide technical guidance. It took only nine months to complete the processes of independent selection and design of segments, opening up wasteland and building factories, renovation and installation of independent equipment, and completion and commissioning of segment factories, which was two months ahead of the original construction period.

After the segment plant was put into operation, the project department implemented the production concept of "every ring segment is the first ring", and strengthened the production process control and quality control of segments by means of strict material control, strict process control and strict quality inspection. After ensuring the smooth operation of single-shift production, the project department set up a breakthrough reward for segment production, carried out double-shift construction, and comprehensively improved production efficiency. The single-day production capacity of segments broke through 100, 110 and 120 marks on August 20, 22 and 23, respectively, and successively refreshed the single-day production record. Up to now, 1945 segments of the project have been produced, which has laid a solid foundation for the smooth excavation of TBM and the efficient completion of the target of guaranteeing supply.
