Anthem of CREC—“Trailbreaker”
On May 17, China Railway Wuhan Electrification Engineering Group completed the installation of wires of the overhead contact-line system on the border section of the China-Laos Railway, marking the successful connection of the power supply equipment of the electrified railway on the border region of the two countries. Following the success, test of the overhead line equipment will begin, paving the way for electrifying the contact-line system.
About 70 percent of the cables and wires, 1,103 kilometers in length respectively, used for the overhead contact-line system on the Yuxi-Mohan section of the China-Laos Railway have been installed. The installation of wires is the most important work in the contact-line engineering for electrified railway. Electrification of the contact-line system will provide a reliable power supply for safe operation of trains on the rail. (By Yang Yudong, Ren Xiangyu, Guo Yu)
