Anthem of CREC—“Trailbreaker”
The last segmental box girder for Viaduct-2 (V2) of the Padma Bridge Rail Link Project (PBRLP) in Bangladesh was erected on May 4. Bangladesh’s Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan sent congratulatory letter to the Chinese contractor.

The PBRLP connects Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka with the terminal station Jessore, with a total length of nearly 170 kilometers. CREC and its 12 subsidiaries contributed to the construction. Bridges along the line total more than 30 kilometers. Apart from connecting with the Padma dual-purpose bridge, the PBRLP has to cross six large rivers and a low-lying area of waterways. V1, V2 and V3 are the largest viaducts. The V2 measures 2,589 meters in lengths, and was finished 51 days ahead of schedule.
