In April 2016, the Kigamboni Bridge in Tanzania was completed. This modern bridge was jointly constructed by China Railway Construction Engineering Group and MBEC. As the largest cable-stayed cross-sea bridge in Sub-Saharan Africa, it is hailed as the “most spectacular bridge” and “No.1 bridge” in East Africa by Tanzanian people. The completion of the bridge, which is considered another “name card of made-in-China” in Africa, brought hope to people in the Kurasini bay area. Tanzanian President John Pombe Joseph Magufuli, Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania Lu Youqing and thousands of Tanzanian people witnessed the historic moment at its inauguration ceremony.
