Anthem of CREC—“Trailbreaker”
The Pingtang Bridge won the Gustav Lindenthal Medal in 2021.
The 2,135-meter-long Pingtang Bridge built by CRHIC is a control engineering project of the Pingtang-Luodian Expressway in Guizhou Province. It is the three-tower cable-stayed bridge with the longest span in mountainous areas. Its concrete main tower is 332 meters tall, a world record.
After the bridge was open to traffic, the travel time from Pingtang to Luodian was cut from 2.5 hours to one hour. The bridge serves as an artery passage in southern Guizhou. It has a service area equipped with a bridge museum and a sightseeing hotel, turning the expressway into a multifunctional facility integrating transportation, ecology, tourism, and shopping.
