On September 26, the plateau alpine large-diameter hard rock roadheader "Plateau Pioneer" (CREC 1197), jointly developed by China Railway Hi-Tech Industry Co,.Ltd. and China Railway 14th Bureau Group, was successfully rolled off the production line in Zhengzhou. This is another large-diameter hard rock roadheader manufactured by CREC Industry for plateau alpine railway projects after "Snow Pioneer", "Loyalty" and "Plateau Pilot".

The cutter head diameter of the "Plateau Pioneer" hard rock roadheader is 10.23 meters, and the length of the whole machine is about 300 meters. To better solve the construction difficulties such as long single-head tunneling distance, high construction elevation, high rock strength, and crossing broken zone, the development team has added many advanced technologies such as intelligent assistant tunneling, host vibration monitoring, high-performance edge computing terminal, cutter head infrared monitoring, advanced geological prediction and so on to the equipment to ensure the safety. It has become another breakthrough in the application of domestic high-end equipment technology in high-altitude and cold tunnel projects.
