On February 28, the German Design Award, the highest award in Germany’s design industry, announced the list of winners in the architectural category for 2022, and the “China Railway Cloud Bay” project in Guiyang, developed and built by China Railway Real Estate Group, won the “Special Mention Excellent Architecture - Urban Space and Infrastructure” award.

　　Up to now, the project has successively won six international design awards, such as the gold winner for Melbourne Design Awards, the gold winner for World Habitat Awards, the gold winner for “Jin Teng Awards—Real Estate Space of the Year”, the MUSE Design Awards 2021 and the silver winner for the 6th REARD Global Real Estate Design Awards—Residential Architecture.

　　The design of “China Railway Cloud Bay” project leverages the geotechnical conditions of the site and integrates elements of architecture, landscape, and rock formations. Leaving local karst landscapes and vegetation untouched and adopting flexible design concepts of light intervention, low costs and sustainability, the project is aimed to create diverse public landscape spaces, offer interactive and immersive experiences, and provide an inviting space for users.

　　Sponsored by the German Design Council, the German Design Award has strict selection criteria. Only with recommendation by the German Design Council can one qualify for the competition. Most of the nominees are the winning works of other international design awards, so the honor is also known as the “award of awards”.
