The environmental assessment on the Hungary section of the Hungary-Serbia railway made major progress on March 17 when the final version of the Environmental Assessment Report of the Hungary-Serbia Railway was submitted to Hungarian authorities for approval. Soon after China Railway No.9 Engineering Group began construction of the 152-km-long railway on July 6, 2020, the project department overcame a series of challenges brought by the COIVD-19 pandemic to start the environmental impact assessment procedure and carry out field work including data collection, model making, plotting and reporting.(By Wang Bin)
