Boten-Vientiane Railway: First Tunnel Longer than 6,000 Meters Drills Through

The excavation of Boten Tunnel of Boten-Vientiane Railway completed recently. It was designed and constructed by two CREC subsidiaries, China Railway ERYUAN Engineering Group and China Railway No.5 Engineering Group respectively.

It is arduous to build this 6453.5-meter tunnel for various adverse geologies, such as karst, bedding, fault fracture zone and carbon mudstone.
