Mr. Zhang Cheng, a senior engineer, is Independent Non-executive Director of CREC and Outside Director of Dongfeng Electric Corporation (DEC). Mr. Zhang began to work in 1975. From January 2006 to March 2010, he served as CEO of China Yangtze Power Co., Ltd. From March 2010 to April 2015, he served as member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy CEO of China Three Gorges Corporation and CEO and Director of China Yangtze Power Co., Ltd. From May 2013 to December 2018, he also served as Director of China National Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. From May 2015 to December 2017, he served as Deputy CEO of China Three Gorges Corporation and Vice Chairman of China Yangtze Power Co., Ltd. Mr. Zhang has been Outside Director of DEC since June 2020 and Independent Non-executive Director of CREC since March 2021. Mr. Zhang got a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology where he majored in high-voltage electricity technology equipment, and later obtained a doctoral degree in electric engineering at Chongqing University.
