China Railway Beijing Engineering Group is mainly responsible for the construction of runway works in the airfield area of Vilana International Airport in Maldives. Since the start of construction in 2017, the project department has overcome unfavorable factors such as the long supply cycle of international engineering materials, the large span of procurement time and space, and the cross-construction, strengthened the coordination of construction organization, combined with the overall construction schedule of the project, planned and accelerated the progress of the project. At the same time, we strictly control the emission of noise and garbage and ensure the clean and tidy appearance of the site.

China Railway Beijing Engineering Group pays attention to carrying out scientific and technological innovation relying on the Maldives Airport Project, and one of the construction methods has won the first-class results of the Second Engineering Construction Micro Innovation Technology Competition of China Construction Enterprise Association and has saved a lot of costs in the construction.

The new runway is the first 4F runway in Maldives, which can meet the take-off and landing requirements of large aircraft such as Airbus A380. It will greatly promote the leap-forward development of tourism in the Maldives and will become another landmark project of the China-Maldives friendship.
