Anthem of CREC—“Trailbreaker”
CREC undertakes all survey and design tasks of this approximately 1,100-kilometer-long railway, which is located at the mountainous area of southwest China. With complex terrain and landform as well as poor engineering geological conditions, it is extremely difficult to build this railway. Moreover, CREC encountered many difficulties that have never been seen before when providing survey and design services. The project won the National Science and Technology Progress Special Award and the United Nations Special Award in 1985 and 1984 respectively. It was praised by the United Nations as one of the three masterpieces created by mankind to conquer nature in the 20th century. It was named “100 Classics and Fine Works in the 60th Anniversary of PRC” in 2011.
