The Padma River in Bangladesh, because of its wide channel, turbulent flow and complex geology, makes people cross the river by boats for thousands of years, but this situation will be changed soon. The Padma Bridge, first rail-cum-road bridge in Bangladesh will be built here.

The history of crossing the River through ferry boat of local residents from the 21 south districts & the capital city will come to an end when this bridge is opened to traffic. It is also an important channel which connects China and the “Trans-Asian Railway”.
