A main corridor in China’s “eight vertical and eight horizontal” HSR network, the Beijing-Shanghai HSR was the longest of its type with the largest investment and the highest technical standards in the country at the time when it was built at one go. The project won the special prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and China Civil Engineering Zhan Tianyou Award in 2014.
